We made it through the rain…

Well, we are here in Placerville.  The train ride was certainly and experience.  I am glad we did it, and Em was wonderfully behaved, but… yeah… I was a bit nuts.

The train was delayed all the way across country, starting with DC as we left the day of the flash floods.  Then it was freight trains with right of way,etc..etc..etc.

The most succesful thing about the ride was the great Uno Tournament of 2006.  We played 75 games of Uno in 4 days.  I won with 302 points to Emily’s 420.  I didn’t tell her that though.

We got in late last night, and I woke up to a killer headache and upset stomach this morning. Feeling better now with a “crash” day just laying around the house and playing with the dogs.  Blogging will be light.  I have lots of photos and journal entries, but since my Dad still has dial up and I am sharing the computer, I don’t think I will be on much.  I plan on doing some scrapbooking while here, so will post on the trip when I get home.

As an aside, the 4 days on the train was the first time I have been that long without email since 1998.
