10,000 Wishes

In Emily’s second grade class this year, they are learning a new rhyme every week.  Last week was

Elsie Marly has grown so fine,
She won’t get up to feed the swine,
But lies in bed till eight or nine,
Lazy Elsie Marly.

Mrs. Berry told me that each morning after the class recited the rhyme, Emily would raise her hand and say – that’s me!  I was Lazy Elsie Marly this morning!  I wouldn’t get up till eight or nine! and Laugh.

This week was

Starlight, starbright, first star I see tonight,
I wish I may, I wish I might, have the wish I wish tonight.

So, naturally I asked Emily – what she wishes for.

And from her sweet little voice comes

“I wish for  10,000…

…..Puppies!!”

Oh my.

“Oh and I wish for no homework.”

  1. At least it wasn’t 10,000 ‘real babies’. Thats what my two little ones wish for EVERY night!!! The other night Jillian asked me what I would wish for on a wishing star. I told her that I would wish that her wish never comes true!!!
